Maternity Leave Please inform JAM! as soon as you become pregnant so that we are aware and can guide you through the process. When you are pregnant, you are entitled to 6 weeks of pregnancy leave and at least 10 weeks of maternity leave. A portion of the maternity leave can be taken in a dispersed manner.
Pregnancy leave lasts until the day of delivery. To determine the start of your leave, subtract 6 weeks from the day following the expected delivery date. You must be on leave at least 4 weeks before the day following the expected delivery date. Any remaining days from the 6-week pregnancy leave will be added to the maternity leave.
Maternity leave begins the day after delivery and lasts for a minimum of 10 weeks. The remaining leave after the initial 6 weeks from the delivery date can be taken in parts. This portion of the leave can be spread over a period of up to 30 weeks, subject to consultation with JAM!.
Parental Leave Send an email to [email protected] indicating your desire to take parental leave. JAM! will contact you to discuss the procedure. You are entitled to 9 weeks of parental leave in your child's first year. This leave is paid by the Employee Insurance Agency (UWV) and amounts to 70% of your daily wage. Parental leave can be taken in a dispersed manner and applies to both the father and mother of the child.
Special Leave You are entitled to special leave in the following cases:
- Death of a (step)child or partner (4 days, including the day of death and the day of the funeral)
- Death of one of your (in-laws) parents (2 days)
- Funeral or cremation of a brother, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, or grandparent (1 day)
- Your marriage or registered partnership, or that of your (step)child, brother, sister, or parent (1 day)
- Your 25th, 40th, 50th, or 60th wedding anniversary or registered partnership, or that of your children, (in-laws) parents, or grandparents (1 day)
Always inform JAM! by sending an email to [email protected].
Paternity Leave Inform JAM! when you want to request paternity leave by emailing [email protected], and JAM! will contact you to discuss the process. You can apply for paternity leave when your partner has given birth. The application must be submitted within 4 weeks after the birth of your child. As a partner, you are entitled to 1 week of paternity leave. For example, if you work 5 days a week for 6 hours per day, you are entitled to 30 hours of paternity leave.
Additional Paternity Leave If you wish to take additional paternity leave, send an email to [email protected]. You will be contacted to discuss the process further. Additional paternity leave must be taken within 6 months after the birth of the child and can only be taken after the regular paternity leave has ended. The maximum duration of additional paternity leave is 5 weeks, and it is paid at 70% of your daily wage by the UWV.
